Week #35 Weigh-In

Lost this week – +.4 lbs.

Total loss – 32.6 lbs.

GRRRRRRRR…….

Ok, so here’s the deal.  Confession time of sorts.  I put on a fairly significant amount of weight EVERY weekend.  Sometimes as much as 6 lbs. from the time I weigh in on Thursday until I weigh myself on Monday.  Then I spend the next 4 days trying to catch up.  Sometimes successfully, sometimes not.

So now I’m changing my weigh-in day.  From this point on, I’ll be weighing in every Monday.  This will add another level of accountability to my weight loss, and will help me stay more focused on the weekends.

Thanks for listening.

A couple more things to think about.

    1. Try to maintain the same eating schedule you are on Monday – Friday at work.

    2. Are you getting to the gym at least once on Friday, Sat. or Sun?

Probably what is happening is that your body gets used to your Monday thru Thursday schedule, and then on the weekend you eat different, sleep different, exercise different and it throws your metabolism out of whack. Strive for more consistency this weekend and see what the scale says on Monday!

Hey, Doug, it’s my understanding that a weight fluctuation of six lbs over a weekend can’t possibly be fat – it surely has to be fluid or something else (how much does dinner weigh??!). Fat can’t appear/disappear that quickly. What is happening on your weekends that could account for changes in fluid? Maybe you would be better to weigh in only once a fortnight to get a more balanced view of your overall position (or even monthly?). Weight goes up and down and round and round quite a lot over a period of days.
