Romans 8:1-2 (NLT)

1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power[a] of the life-giving Spirit has freed you[b] from the power of sin that leads to death.

I forget that I actually belong to Christ.  I think that when we get saved, we focus on accepting Him and what He has done for us, which is true, but for me it stops there.  He paid for us with His death and His sacrifice.  We are His!   There is no condemnation.  He has freed us!  He has given us the power over sin!!  That’s what we need to accept!  He has made us powerFUL not powerLESS.

Thank You Father!!

  1. good message…that was actually the passage we used at our church this past sunday…

it’s tough to grasp a lot of times…

  2. One of my fav passages… nice post Doug!

  3. Good stuff, brother… I often tend to forget this, too. We spend so much time working on furthering the kingdom and doing God’s work (now that we’re part of the family) that we neglect to remember that we are heirs to the throne and all of the power that goes with that…

    You’re the man…
